Ancestral Echoes: Mythology in My Worldbuilding

A message from 1 Opifex, creator of Dendrahlis

1. Where Myths Live in Me

Before I ever created the Visari — I was a kid reading every myth I could find.

Greek. Yoruba. Hindu. Norse. Aztec. Polynesian. The stories were sacred blueprints. Ancient humans weren’t just imagining gods… they were naming the forces around them. Through their myths, they told the story of the cosmos, of good and evil.

So when I began writing the Visari, I knew I wanted each of them to carry something ancient, something remembered, a spiritual echo.

2. Honoring the Sacred Lineage of Myth

Every culture has named the divine in its own way. In creating the Visari, I wanted to reflect that spiritual diversity.

  • A culturally consistent mythic echo
  • The same gender
  • The same spiritual or elemental domain
  • The same emotional resonance or archetype

3. The 22nd Cycle — When the Visari Were Born

In the lore of Dendrahlis, universes are born from seeds — thought-forms cast into the Infinity Gate.

The Visari are the divine forces of the 22nd such universe. But before their cycle began, something unprecedented happened: the seed absorbed the collective memory of Earth's myths, the spiritual energy of gods once named by human minds.

The myths you told... shaped the gods we became.
